In this installment in the Encounters message series, Pastor Hurmon talks about one of the most impactful encounters we can have with God, which happens is in the place of unanswered prayers. Looking at Jesus’s prayer in the garden of Gethsemane, we see the Father answering, “no,” while also sending an angel to comfort and strengthen Jesus. Pastor Hurmon identifies issues that can hamper our prayers, such as doubt, wrong motives, and broken relationships. Ultimately our prayers must align with God’s purposes, and if He answers, “no,” we can still believe and in His unchanging character and trust that He is for us and not against us.
